Babbacombe Cliff Railway open for business

Babbacombe Cliff Railway is now open for business for 2012 and already busy shuttling passengers to and from Oddicombe Beach so locals and holidaymakers are once again able to travel in comfort up and down the steep cliffs at Babbacombe.

2012 looks set to be a big year for Babbacombe Cliff Railway who have just published a leaflet outlining a range of new and exciting events to be held this year. The leaflets are available to pick up from the Top Station. There is a very special offer on Mother’s Day where each Mum travelling on the Cliff Railway that day receives a free flower (while stocks last). Saturday 7 April sees the Grand Opening of the brand new Visitor Centre down on Oddicombe Beach with live music, an Easter Egg Hunt and loads of fun. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee there’s a very special offer of just 60p per person per trip all day on Saturday 2 June. Sunday 17 June will be a day of live music on Oddicombe and on Sunday 9 September the Cliff Railway is taking part in the 2012 Agatha Christie Festival by holding a Murder Mystery Family Fun Day with clues to find, plots to foil and a great 1920s atmosphere.

Nicky Allen, Marketing Officer for the Cliff Railway, says “Whilst a trip on Babbacombe Cliff Railway and a visit to Oddicombe Beach is a must-do for many holidaymakers and locals, for 2012 we wanted to provide a few extra highlights throughout the year which is why we came up with this events programme. The Babbacombe Cliff Railway Community Interest Company works closely with the Friends of Babbacombe Cliff Railway to bring what we hope will be some great entertainment as the year goes on.”

Babbacombe Cliff Railway is open from 9.30am to 5pm although times do vary throughout the season. More information on all these events can be found at www.babbacombecliffrailway.co.uk
