On-line bidding opens for fantastic charity auction lots

Ever fancied the idea of taking all your friends on a boat for a great night out? Well, Greenway Ferry’s “The Fairmile” could be yours to share with 130 of your friends for the evening as that’s just one of the fantastic lots that has been donated to the Babbacombe Garage Charity Auction which will be taking place at the Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular on Saturday 23 June in the HSBC Marquee on Babbacombe Downs, all in aid of the Torbay Holiday Helpers Network (THHN).

Other lots include a day out for 10 people at Wembley Stadium to watch Saracens, a day out for 8 people at Alton Towers, a flying lesson in a 2-seater aircraft donated by FLYNQY, a signed Michael Owen England Football shirt, a Manchester United football signed by the 1st team, a tour of Westminster Palace and tea on the terrace for 4 people with Adrian Sanders MP, a signed first edition Virginia Woolf book and a 3 night half board holiday for 2 people in any UK Bay Hotel, donated by Shearings Bay Hotels.

Luke Tillen is the founder and Chairman of the THHN which provides free holidays for families who have seriously ill children, recently bereaved families, couples who have lost a child and families who have a terminally ill parent. He said “I’m absolutely thrilled with the incredible range of lots we have for the auction. Thanks to Babbacombe Garage and Vacation World there will also be a draw to win £1200 worth of holiday vouchers. I’m confident that the Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular will be a night to remember and this auction should help raise some much-needed funds enabling us to provide more free holidays throughout the bay to those who need them most.”

Luke added “We’ve had a number of people wanting to know if they can bid in advance for some of the lots, as well as people who are unable to come along on the night but would like to bid. The good news is that the auction is open to everyone and we’ve now got a web page listing all the lots and bids can be e-mailed through up until midnight on Friday 22 June.” For a full list of the lots and how to bid, go to www.thhn.co.uk/babbacombe-garage-charity-auction-list
